Basic Tips For Healthy Living
1. Fluids
2. Balanced Diet
3. Exercise
4. Moderation
5. Sleep and Relaxation
1. Fluids:
Drink a water-based beverage (water, juice or milk) with every meal and snack — between 8 and 16 oz.Carry a water bottle with you. This is a great way to maintain your hydration level when doing outdoor activities or running errands, especially in warmer months. You should drink a minimum of 8–10 cups per day, but aim for 10–12 cups if you are more active. (1 cup = 8 oz.)
2. Balanced Diet:
A balanced diet is important because your organs and tissues need proper nutrition to work effectively. Without good nutrition, your body is more prone to disease, infection, fatigue, and poor performance. At the core of a balanced diet are foods that are low in unnecessary fats and sugars and high in vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients.
Fruits are high in sugar. This sugar is natural, though, so fruit can still be a better choice for you than other foods with added sugar.Vegetables are primary sources of essential vitamins and minerals. Dark, leafy greens generally contain the most nutrition and can be eaten at every meal.Oils should be used sparingly. Opt for low-fat and low-sugar versions of products that contain oil, such as salad dressing and mayonnaise.
3. Exercise:
From a simple walk in the park to an intense workout, any form of exercise is beneficial, as it helps you manage your weight and boosts your mood and energy level at the same time.
4. Moderation:
When it comes to life’s little indulgences, moderation is the key. This applies to sugar, alcohol, certain types of fats and any other unhealthy food or activity.
5. Sleep and Relaxation:
It’s very important to make sure your body gets the rest it needs to recuperate from the pressure of daily life. Get at least eight hours of sleep per night and engage in relaxing hobbies or activities, such as meditation, yoga, painting or simply spending time with friends or family.
